The central processing element performs arithmetic (in two's complement), logical (AND, OR, NOT and XOR) and register functions of a 2-bit microprogrammable central processor.

Inside the IC, data is stored in one of the 11 SRAM registers or in an accumulator (independent register). Data from the bus inputs, from the registers and the accumulator enters the ALU through 2 internal multiplexers. Additional inputs and outputs serve to provide transfer propagation, shifts, and microinstruction selection (40 in total).
